Basically, to tell them "Hi, Flyer #32 on NW is the same as Flyer #B075 on DL". I did not have to do this, as I did not have NW miles before the merger, so I don't know all the details, but I do remember several months of them pimping to link your accounts.

UA/CO have not announced their merged program yet, or any of the details related to consolidating accounts, but I would not be surprised if something similar applies.

I have (limited) miles with both, so I'll keep an eye out
