I've been to the US three times since 9/11

Driving across the border in Washington ... lots of assault rifles. Very unnerving. (But this level of annoyance would be pretty much everywhere in the Israeli solution)

Flying into Vegas via Sea-Tac ... I got pulled aside for special screening on my luggage, still not sure why. I think I was the only person on my flight to get that treatment.

Flying into John Wayne via Sea-Tac last year ... smooth sailing. Everyone was chatty and nice.

So, in my experience, it's actually improved. But I'm still a bit negative about it, and these headlines don't help.
