Disagree. If the US and NATO pulled every bit of personnel and aid out of those countries and said "we're never coming back"

(along with pulling out every Israeli and creating a state somewhere else) there would be no reason for jihadists to bother going overseas to attack us because Lady Gaga is popular. It would take a hundred years before population expansion even gave them the idea that the existence of Western culture beyond the border is a limit to their own freedoms.
