Charlie the drunk isn't funny to me on the show. Narcissistic, womanizing, one-liner Charlie is funny.

It used to be all about Jake's lines, but now it's moved to Alan.
I found last night's funny - but yes, the opening scene with Charlie plastered was a bad reminder of Sheen's real life issues.
