No, the people who did show up voted GOP. Those were the ones with motivation this time due to the politics of fear.

Go find some voting results from a place like NYT that tracks voting for 2008 and 2010. You'll notice that voting is down 30-35% across the board. This was a logical conclusion to this series of events. Hatemongers are watching the world change and it's freaking them out. So, they expressed it with a vote for extremism. This is the way it has to work.
