here's what I'm looking at so far as a rough itinerary

spend a weekend in Portland
drive to the coast, hike Saddle Mountain on the way
drive down to Lincoln City, spend a few nights there
drive across the valley, hike Silver Falls
drive to Bend, hike around Broken Top, send the second weekend there
drive up the east side of the mountains and down the gorge, hitting Multnomah Falls on the way back to Portland
