we got the attendance and infrastructure already in place to host a huge series of games...plus iirc Qatar's bid in 2022 would put China's preferred bid off another 12-16 years.

i dunno. given that it's fifa, the ~50 billion the qataris are saying they'll spend is likely to help a lot....
