Seems to create needless internal competition and might be detrimental to team building. Also, fairly arbitrary.

If I have a few good associates that are all capable, the judgments at some point just get to who I like working with best. Sometimes that's an indication of who's best, but also just who I'm most comfortable and have the most experience with. I think ranking like that is pointless.
