what's frustrating is when you look at the actual deal, Obama made out fairly well.

he gave up $120 million in tax breaks to secure $450 million of his own stimulus programs (unemployment extension, payroll tax break to replace the Working Families tax credit, extension of education tax credits), in addition to the $360 million or so on tax breaks that everyone agreed on.
and it just reinforces how badly he's handling the political debate by not being capable of selling this thing on the merits, but getting tangled up in the ideological partisan rhetoric surrounding the issue.
