There are several ways to increase spending, is what we're saying.

Increasing spending by decreasing buying power.
Increasing spending while holding steady for buying power (this is the one you're fixated on).
And increasing spending while increasing spending power.
There's only one way to decrease spending, and that's to decrease spending while holding steady with buying power.
