there is no 99 week federal extension - it is an extension in three or four tiers of 73 weeks (I think state UI is 26 weeks)

if you are on the federal extension tiers (there are three or four of them) - if they don't pass this you get jack shit immediately. If you are at 46 weeks, your benefits end at 46 weeks. If you are at 70 weeks, your benefits end at 70 weeks. If you are at 46 weeks or 70 weeks and they do pass this, you can continue on to 99 weeks.

Currently the state I live in has suspended unemployment benefits to people who still have money in their unemployment accounts left, due to uncertainty of whether the federal government will continue this.
