I just can't believe how apeshit DC gets over a little snow. It seems worse than Seattle.

Heck, it melts in one day.
Prior to the last 4 days, it had snowed here every day for 2 weeks. Schools were only closed one day because of white-out conditions. We have rain tonight turning to more snow the next 3 days. Even with no snow the last few days and highs in the 40s, we still have snow on the ground, on the side streets and piled 12 feet high in the corners of parking lots.
I lived in Ky and TN half my life and they went nuts over snow, but not to the extent DC does (plus it snows a lot more in KY and TN). I'm convinced that they make it such a big deal in DC just so federal employees don't have to go to work.
At least Seattle has a legit reason to freak out, some of the hills are almost undriveable when they're dry, add a little snow and merriment ensues. DC, on the other hand, is basically flat. Yep, it's the love of snow days, that has to be it. :)
