Just found out a very good friend of mine from college recently tried to commit suicide. From a mutual friend:

(I knew he had alcohol problems even back then)

"hH had been in rehab for alcohol and was doing great... had a relapse and tried to kill himself... no one could get ahold of him... and now he's in a halfway house. He and his ugly oldish girlfriend (w/kids) came with friends for the music fest. That's when he told me that he had been in rehab. Then, a few months later, he had a relapse but i dunno how he tried to do it. I finally talked to him right before Thanksgiving, but he was in the grocery store and said it wasn't a good time to explain what had happened."

Fucking hell. He's okay now, but those hellbent on suicide eventually succeed...
