funny story about 10 years ago my brother gave all of us 100 shares of a tech company which had bought out his former employer

this was as they were already on the way down from the tech bubble. they're now worth about 10% of what they were when we got them, and were delisted from NASDAQ earlier this year and now trade over the counter.
But they're up almost 200% over the last 24 months, though...
