Spy Gear is a cute line of toys that has everything from note pads with "invisible ink" to "bugs" to mini-binoculars. All the stuff works.
4 year-old boy-a big old bouncy ball if he's an outdoor kid. If not, one of those dvds with like 50 cartoons.
2 year-old boy--Something poundy, like a Buddy the Builder workbench.
1 year-old boy--a push/pull learn to walk toy like a "popcorn popper". Fisher-Price makes a couple good ones. Also, the Fisher-Price pull along phone with the googly eyes. It's a pull toy, plus the kid can play with the dial and pretend to make calls (yes, 1 year olds do this kind of stuff). You could also give him a couple of big boxes and he'd be happy.
