I'm in the process of applying for permanent disability, the paperwork is a fucking bitch. They estimate 10 hours of record gathering, etc and 9 hours to fill out the forms. You can do it online. If she's serious about applying, she can't have worked for the last 5 months. So no picking up a shift. Also, she can apply whether or not her doctors think she's totally disabled. I found out that back surgeons will seldom advise people to apply because it makes them look bad. Heh.
