room to bother me.
I have lived next door to a hospital emergency bay; have had a commuter train 30 feet from my bedroom window; and have lived in a Hispanic neighborhood where people blast music in the courtyard at 2 am. at this point I am not sure a fire alarm would get my attention.

I lived five floors up from three of the busiest bars in state college. it took a month to get used to it. I can sleep through anything.

My biggest problems are bass and other percussive repetitive noise from adjacent apartments. Things out in the world, I can handle anything. -- nm

generally doesn't bother me. I used to live across the street from a hospital, and only the helicopters ever bothered/woke me.

oh yes, and "road noise"? It amazes me that people are bothered by it. I live next to 395 right now.
