A noose is surprisingly easy to tie (former boy scout here, okay?)

Basically you take your rope and form a loop, then form a second loop at the top. Just above the lower loop you start tightly wrapping. Make 13 wraps and tuck your tail end into the top loop. Pull down on the bottom loop. That will secure the tail in the upper loop and allow the lower loop to move freely.

The knot goes behind the ear. :-)
