i like reading those from others, mostly; but mine would be the sucky blah this year.

another board i sometimes look at has a periodic "so how are you doing/what's been going on in your life" kind of thread where folks post sort of summaries of lately, maybe once or twice a year. you can catch bits and pieces along the way, but the summs are a nice way of catching up on more.
