ok waited for new board to post this and please don't make fun of me but ... first call at work today was a client calling me to thank me ...

it's pretty emotional, and my co-workers hadn't told me yet - but he had a house fire on Tuesday - woke at 4 a.m. to smoke - was on couch with his baby on his chest - he gathered his wife and cat and got out through the garage and then went back in and managed to get a few things before it was too dangerous to be inside. The reason he was thanking me is - when he switched his auto and home policies to me a year ago January, I pushed him on some changes for better coverage and our company is backing up the coverage - taking care of things arleady with payments and helping. He was kinda shocked I hadn't been told - until I explained that they won't let me do claims because I get too emotional - I just do new policies and set the coverages up - and that co-workers sometimes even hide from me when we have older clients pass away because I get pretty upset (silly I know - but these are people you really get to know over time). So aaaanyway - he was at work when he called and had to dash - but his last words were "you let me know when you need a recommendation" ... (sigh) so yeah - as much as I told him I was sorry they are going through this - especially at holiday time - I was glad that he called to talk with me so I could offer my help too. (one of the things I had him do was forward me a complete set of photos - inside and out - for his house ... about 40 pictures - and they will be so helpful in listing the contents part of the claim/loss ) - so ST - when you're taking your Christmas photos this year - make sure you put a set of them out on an email site or some place you can get them later if you need them due to a house fire or breaking and entering theft claim ... you KNOW you're going to have cameras out - just take a few extra pictures and stowe them - because I said so ... you just never know.
