Software users.....when you are learning how to do something, do you prefer to get dirty or learn it in an orderly manner?

me, I like to jump in, google a fair bit of code, and basically see what I can mess up initially....then learn and mold things into a working thing.
I'm pretty much self taught in this regard when ti comes to Excel and especially Access
