When I took off my sock last night, I noticed that my ankle had swollen up to a grapefruit. Advice?

It was less swollen this morning, but it's just as hard - if not harder - to walk on it this morning. I'm not wanting to take any Advil 'cause it's giving me an upset stomach (though this probably explains why it hurts so much this morning).
I don't think it's broken, although the x-rays didn't look a the ankle. It's probably a substantial sprain. I don't think I'm going to be able to elevate it at work, but will wrapping it help?

I sprained the absolute hell out of mine in October. Try to find a compression sock. Saves you having to actually wrap it. -- nm

Wrapping will help support the ankleif you need to walk on it. Ice will bring down the swelling.

Put the sock back on, and leave the other on, as well.
