Here's a good "dinner uncomfortable" for you... We got invited to dinner tonight. The invite just came Monday. Mrs. NWBR isn't....

...The most comfortable around most of the guests who'll be there due to being somewhat shy and not really knowing this group. It's just not her friends, like they are mine. That's cool. I asked her if she wanted to go, she asked me if "she should". (Common question considering there are some political events I ask her to attend with me, while others going stag is no problem.)

"I would like you to be there because I'll be bringing up my politic future for discussion and think you should know what's going on, but that said, it's an easy excuse to skip (need to Christmas shop) if you really don't want to go."

She agreed to go, though begrudgingly, but I was just happy that she was going to come and RSVP'd.

Then I find out via Twitter last night that the host purchased veal chops for tonight! Mrs. NWBR is now super angry at me b/c of this final straw. (Not really hating me, but just not loving the fact that these type of dinners are a part of my life - and now hers.)

The take-away from this story - at least to me - is this.....

Who serves veal w/o knowing his guests' feelings on it first?!

I mean, I love veal, but totally get those - such as Mrs. NWBR - who don't like to partake if they can avoid it.
