He's very flambouantly gay (I'd describe him as kind of like Mark on Ugly Betty). He had a very rough childhood (beaten by parents, etc. and taken away by DCFS and placed in foster homes). Finally adopted at the age of 7 by a fairly conservative (though mixed race) couple. Anyway, at about the age of 14 he came out to his parents. His parents response was "We know dear. Everyone knows. We were all waiting for you to figure it out."
