out of curiosity, for the LDR couples: how long was the long-distance component? and was there a light at the end of the tunnel or not?

i do not pose the question to invalidate y'alls opinions at all. just in my experience/opinion, that is a *huge* component to the success rate of such situations.

A year and a half or so. The light at the end of the tunnel was discussed then approached as the relationship grew.
