So, we went to the 2 year old's funeral the morning of the 31st. Horrible. Open Casket. Beyond awful.
Then, we finally started to head up north to Dave's parents for the delayed Christmas and New Year's Eve party. On the way we get a flat tire. We are in the middle of nowhere, in nice funeral clothes, we have to take everything out of the trunk onto the slushy road and change to our spare. Dave's son was a huge huge help there.
Then, we get a call from the home care people who come to look after Dave's parents twice a week about doing a reassessment because Dave's dad is getting weaker, etc.
Then, we finally arrive and Dave's mom all exhausted and worn out because his dad is becoming so much work.
We finally leave to go to Dave's cousins for New Years Eve and plan to stay over. We call his parents about 9am on New Year's Day, no answer. We rush back to their house. Dave's mom is asleep, can barely be woken, Dave's dad is gone. Gone.
We eventually figure out that he got taken by ambulance, at 4am, to the hospital because he could barely move.
He's still there. He's 91. Dave's mom is flipping between complete denial and complete stress.
Definitely in the Top 10 of 48-hour-periods of all time.
ANYWAY.
I am trying to clean up Dave's parents PC. It's never had any diagnostics, disk checks, etc run. And has no anti-virus software. What are we using for a free web-based scan these days? Is there anything?
Thanks.

Andie, i'm so sorry that you and Dave are going through all of this, horrible enough in any season, but doubly so during the holidays.

Web-based? As in a site you go to that will check for infections? Or are you wanting a free virus protection program
