Nothing new actually.. LA County doesn't do certain types of transplants because they are too expensive.

So for those transplants you need to go to private hospitals and pony up the cash.
At our private hospital I saw a patient who came from Nevada to get a kidney/pancreas transplant. Apparently Nevada doesn't do such a combo transplant (don't know how true that is.. but patient said so).
