SheFox and my favorite restaurant in Providence is this place called the Waterman Grille. Menus linked below. But Sun-Wed night they run a 3-course meal special for $19.95, or $49.95 for 2 and they include a bottle of wine. So last night on our date:
I had the:
Szechuan beef skewers
Cedar-planked salmon with root vegetable hash and sauteed spinach
Chocolate Mousse Tort with raspberry coulis
Basically the entire bottle of Beringer cabernet (thanks, pregnant SheFox)
and she had:
Squash soup with chive sour cream
Hereford top sirloin steak over bacon, cheddar, and scallion mashed potatoes with fried onion strings
Creme brulee
Decaf coffee
And *then* the restaurant manager, after discovering in talking to us that we had our wedding reception at this place, insisted on comping our bottle of wine as a thank you for coming back.
Total damage (pre-tip): $45.76
*robbed* them. i almost felt awkward about it. holy damn, their food is so good.
