The big news story here seems to be a push to let Ex-Governor and current felon George Ryan out of prison to see his dying wife.

It would a furlough/visit, not a release.

The news seems to be a big PR campaign for it, with people trotting through taking about Ryan's service and how he's a veteran, etc.

All I want to know is: would we do this for anyone else? If so, then okay. If not, then why are we discussing it?
