It can ruin his confidence and he might never develop. People don't appreciate how imperative training camp is to the improvement of young QBs. If you ever see a graph about the play of guys based on their time spent holding out, it will blow your mind. This won't be settled in March unless something shocking happens. If it's not settled in March, there is no reason to settle it until mid-summer. Every time the NFL labor situation comes up, people say "Oh, they won't be stupid, they'll get something done." And yet we still have had a postseason canceled in baseball and scrubs suit up in football. He's right to not give up his control of his immediate future.
