legendary early bluesman - influence was cited by clapton, brian jones of the stones and others.

oddly proficient with a guitar (gave rise to rumor of faustian deal with the devil) and eerie vocals.

he died very young (27ish), his life was poorly documented, which only adds to his mystique.
