Yeah, I'm trying to find something that's not cotton. I think I've got it, though.

Bottom layer: some sort of polypropylene super-thin water wicking shirt
Second layer: microfibre fleece
Outer layer:
well, I have two options here:
1 - A north face shell, pretty decent, but might not hold up for the whole six hours
2 - a two-layer polyester jacket. Outer layer is a nylon/polyester windbreaker, inner layer is a fleece with a nylon/polyester shell.
I'm going to bring both, but I'm not sure which one will perform best on the water.
Anyway, I was wondering what might work well as a layer between the polypropylene undershirt and the (polyester) fleece, but I might just forget about that layer, since I have nothing that really works - except the 95% cotton/5% spandex t-shirt, which doesn't really work with the long-sleeved undershirt :)
