what size boat, what conditions? small boats in the ocean with a wind and it can be like being sprayed by the fire dept for a couple hours

I used to go sailing on San Fran and its like open ocean.
here in the puget sound there's so little wind that sometimes its boring as the sails flap uselessly.
You're in the northern end and the straight of juan the fucker can be pretty strong, but if you stay in the shadow of the hills then you might have a less challenging more leasurily trip.
bring a big baggie, they make them in two gallon sizes which can seal the camera and keep it safe from the salt water spray which will destroy the camera, if not now, eventually, though some high end cameras have better environmentl seals.
