See, with the cap, the risk is in injury more than dropping.

As it is now, you drop 10 places, you lose close to $30mil guaranteed.
But with a cap, what will the difference between #1 and #10 (using the Leinart scenario) actually be?
I mean, he could still lose money...but not the crazy kind of money Jake Locker lost by staying. The rookie cap will completely change the way we look at all of this.
People are talking about this like Luck is throwing away $55mil by staying in school and I just don't think that's going to be the reality come April.
This all being said, he still has a week to change his mind and if Carolina were to go out and hire Harbaugh, who knows what would happen?
