I'm not following you in the least here. He's going to be a pro football player, be it 2011 or 2012.

if he's not cut out to be an announcer or whatever, that's years down the road.
But the truth is, he's not going to be an architect for years and years down the road either. And if he does get his degree, he's not going to be an architect with it at the time anyhow...so really, it's a useless degree for him in 2012.
He's going to be a pro player for several years, even if he's JaMarcus Russell-like (which isn't realistic)
