Kitchen table report: It is kinda sucky

So you remember my quest for a new kitchen set. Had to be 48" long which was a challenge. Found that nice looking set on Amazon for under $200. Great! It was delivered in a reasonable time but holy crap is it cheap-ass. The chairs feel like kindling (although they do hold my weight well enough) and the whole thing is *just enough* smaller height than our previous table to seem miniature by comparison. I guess you get what you pay for with $200 furniture but it's almost comical how flimsy it feels (even though it seems sturdy enough in use).
Top it all off though, I probably have 4-5 individual "parts" that are broken, cracked or otherwise misaligned that each chair I assembled has an issue of some kind and there was a crack in the top of the table that is minor but noticeable. I'm currently in conversation with the table mfg to perhaps get replacement parts but I can't even imagine trying to return an assembled set to Amazon. How would I even get it back in the box?

perhaps they won't require it to be shipped back. you could offer to send a pic of it busted up even. -- nm

Which table was it? I bought one for $99 and it's OK. It's mostly metal, though. -- nm

Even though it's $200, I'd just junk it and call it a failed experiment. -- nm
