as I'll be playing this in the near future.
Responses:
my initial set of characteristics was set totally wrong for the style of play I use - and I didn't need to increase my perception as high as I did.

I robbed points from strenght and endurance to seriously ramp up Intelligence, Perception and Agility. Working really well thus far.

in Hardcore, ammo has weight, you need to eat and drink constantly, healing is a lot tougher, Companions can die, etc -- nm
