here is what I love. War was depicted honestly - on both sides, there are good people and bad people, not to mention lots of innocent bystanders. Even Katniss herself is a pretty ambivalent figure - not likable all the time, but very real, especially considering that she's supposed to be 17 when the story ends.

I did not expect Finnick and Prim to be characters that died. That was *stunning*. I did, however, expect her eventual future was with Peeta. It just made sense - they'd been through so many similar things together.
