I'd imagine any PC running Windows could run iTunes. I know you can authorize up to 5 PCs to play your drm'ed tunes. I assume it works for movies, too. You can just copy the file over and play it.

The iPad works more like an iPod, you choose exactly which songs and videos to sync.
