When we would have to admit Zoe to the children's hospital, the only way to be admitted was through the ER.

There is no non-emergency admitting department, so even if we spoke with her neurologist ahead of time, we'd have to wait around the ER waiting room to be processed and then wait another 6-8 hours before they could find an open bed on the ward for her. I promise you that if I saw some drunk bitch with an owie on her chin waltzing past us 4 hours into it, I would have made the 28 Days Later zombies look like Teletubbies.
