If they're going there for a wedding but taking the opportunity to spend a week with his family, he would have an argument - which would be completely offset by the bills she incurs by visiting her hometown. Even if the costs on one trip aren't large compared to an air ticket, they seem frequent enough to add up to a lot
If they're just going there for a weekend, he should definitely pay
