When I was a kid, I was dropped off at a gathering of fire department wives while my dad and the rest of the department had a training exercise.

The captain of the department's wife started a fire in their fireplace without opening the chimney flue. The fire department had to leave their exercise to respond to what was deemed the most embarrassing call they ever had.
