want. Two things, the optomitrist may have ordered a specific type because of tear issues, etc, and doesn't want to change them; also, if it's been more than a year since your last appointment/refraction he/she may insist on an exam before allowing you to buy refills. They *are* a prescription medical advice. I don't necessarily agree with this, I think if your rx has been stable for like 10 years and you aren't having problems, it's just an excuse to get another $100 bucks out of you.
I have very very dry eyes and went to Accuvue Oaysis a few years ago and I've done well with them despite being a contact abuser. *grin* I'll put in a pair, sleep in them, live in a dry climate and I just change them when they get all blurry and I can't see, sometimes 6 weeks or so. Even being an abuser, I wouldn't ever order online from a company outside the US (unless it's Canada). You could run into dangerous manufacturing issues plus you'd be risking putting a credit card number out there for any chechnyian criminal to steal.
