I always shop around and make sure to check coupon sites, too.

(and ebates or mypoints, etc.)
I've used a few sites over the years; but... share!
surprisingly, my current optometrist has had really competitive pricing the last couple of years, and I've bought through them. they're also good about letting you swap unused/unopened boxes if you have any and the prescription changes.
in california, contacts prescrips are only good for one year. I don't mess around with eye stuff, especially with multiple close family members with diabetes, and don't mind the annual check - current place actually charges less than some others I've experienced. woo.
that said, I learned that what happens at a lot of online vendors is that they say they need to check with doctors, but they have a time limit for responses. if they don't hear back in x amount of time (1-2 weeks, maybe?), they'll fill the prescription.
