STIS: I have Excel in my start menu (Win 7), and it used to be when I moused-over it, the last 10 documents showed up. Now they don't.

Look at Recent Items - Are there any excel files there?

Jax, here might be the fix. Those recent items are in a super-secret file that may be corrupted

Ah. I see you said Start Menu now. Pin it to your task bar and right click on the icon. See if that works -- nm

I have a task list that is the first thing I open every day. I like to click Start >> mouseover Excel (when it displayed recent items) >> Task List.

My point was, the pinned Excel icon on your Task Bar has a similar feature. I was curious if it was broken also or not -- nm

In windows 7 a mouse-over on the task bar shows running programs, a right-click shows the "action menu" -- nm
