I have a task list that is the first thing I open every day. I like to click Start >> mouseover Excel (when it displayed recent items) >> Task List.

Now I have to open a blank Excel, then go to the office button, then open the recent item.
Responses:
My point was, the pinned Excel icon on your Task Bar has a similar feature. I was curious if it was broken also or not -- nm
