I'm much happier about owning than renting. I know what my monthly costs will be years in the future.

Nobody is going to make me move. The deductions I get are enough to pay to fund my ROTH. I can have whatever pets I want. I don't ever have to listen to the people above me, below me or in the next apartment over. I can invite people over and party late. I can have a cookout in the back yard and have 30 guests.
