IIRC, that was totally gay dance club but over the years it became mixed.

but yeah, in the 80's the End Up featured just that.
I remember a club called LLIPS in the tenderloin, it was an old fashioned dance hall alla jazz bands and lindy hops in the 30's 40's, it was PHILLIPS but the new owners never fixed the sign.
