Two interesting tidbits I just heard from a friend of mine in Portland city government ... (for those interested in regional weather developments)

1. The National Weather Service is now forecasting another snow/ice storm to roll through Oregon and Washington -- pretty much like the last two -- beginning on afternoon or evening of Christmas Eve and continuing through Christmas Day. Portland will likely see another 3-4 inches of snow and/or freezing rain. Temperatures are expected to stay below freezing until Saturday.

2. The mayor is now attempting to contact cities and counties as far away as Boise to request spare snow removal equipment, road gravel, de-icing salt, and similar supplies.
