I agree. I'd go really small and simple. Just a nice party for about 20-30 people.

My brother got married in Prospect Park and had a small reception at some community center type place in Park Slope. Beautiful backyard and the building was a large brownstone that looked like it fell out of 1880s.

The food was terrible but the wedding and reception were nice and simple.
